4 Affiliate Marketing Advantages + 1 Disadvantage

January 14 6 Comments Category: Affiliate Marketing

Dear aspiring affiliate marketers, I guess you are anxious to learn about the affiliate marketing advantages before diving into this business so I won’t make the suspense last very long. I am going to share with you four affiliate marketing advantages that actually make this business awesome, enjoyable and financially… cool.

And, mainly because I would like you to be aware that your magic wand will not do the trick, I will also mention a real disadvantage. Do not panic. Read on!

What are the 4 affiliate marketing advantages?

1. The most obvious affiliate marketing advantage is that it is an online business, implying you can work from practically anywhere as long as you have an internet connection. That’s a massive advantage.

2. The affiliate marketing strategies are very diversified which is great simply because you can take advantage of free or paid techniques depending on the time and budget you have. I think that having the ability to choose how you wish to work and how much you want to invest in your online business makes it a truly manageable and cool business. Just for you to know, the free techniques are basically article marketing (working on content creation) and the paid techniques are mainly Pay Per Click (adwords on Google) and other forms of paid advertising. Of course, you can do both at the same time!

3. Among the affiliate marketing advantages that I find in this business, I think you will like this one the most: Your personality is your marketing weapon. In fact, this affiliate marketing business has nothing to do with big companies marketing to masses, it’s you talking to your web site visitors. The reliability, simplicity, close relationship you can develop in how you connect, market affiliate products, write articles, will most likely benefit from your individuality, your difference. You can be noticeable, you can create new rules, you do not need to be formal. Be yourself.

4. Concerning affiliate marketing earnings, the sky’s the limit. There are multi-millionaires in this business. There’s money to made in any niche, you simply need to align a product with a customer. This business is doing better each year. People buy stuff online. A whole lot. And they will keep doing so.

Hope you consider these affiliate marketing advantages compelling!

So what is the affiliate marketing disadvantage?

You! It’s probably rude of me to tell you so but, yes, I think you’re your own disadvantage. Allow me to clarify this before you send me an offended message: you are by yourself. You may spend hours reading really informative articles and ebooks online, no one can work for you, only you can get it done and make it happen. There’s only 1 thing that makes many affiliate marketers fail, it is their lack of consistency.

You have a choice to make: Having fun now, working on and off on this business and never make much more than 60 dollars per month with this business or being determined, working your butt off a few hours every day, staying focused, making small sacrifices (not watching youtube videos as much as you used to for example) and eventually enjoying the swimming pool of your villa in Tuscany one or two years from now while earning a fortune almost on autopilot. Your choice.

What now?

Take Action!! ;)

  4. Hi Robert,

Merchants who want to set up an affiliate program to have affiliates promote their product usually join an affiliate marketing “plateform” such as Clickbank (for virtual products) or CJ.com or Shareasale for instance.

So as affiliates, it’s easier to go on these plateforms to find merchants that accept affiliates.

The other option is to promote products on Amazon so that even if the official website of a certain product doesn’t accept affiliates, you can still promote their products through Amazon Associates.

It’s true that more and more merchant sites have an affiliate program (there’s often a link labelled “Affiliates” at the bottom of their site), not only sites that sell physical products but also sites that sell services. So it’s safe to say that as affiliates we have and will get more and more products to choose from.
